Abstract

Bilateral cleft lip (BCL) repair is still a great challenge to most surgeons, although the principles have been established. It has been considered that BCL is more than twice difficult to repair than unilateral cleft lip, and the results are only half as good. Also, the stigmata are not completely avoidable. Mulliken method has been improved technically for past decades, and is the most popular surgical technique for correction of BCL. Authors experienced surgical correction of bilateral cleft lip which had various types (two complete or complete and incomplete or two incomplete, etc.) by using Mulliken method. The overall appearance of the lip and nose in patients was satisfactory, and there were not any complications. In this study, authors report surgical design, and technique which author use with literature review.
